Celebrate Your Canine Best Friend with Skookum Dog, Made in the USA

Skookum-Dog-Giveaway

This week we are introducing a new line of dog products made in the USA. Skookum Dog celebrates the strength and fun of our friendships with our pets.  Made in Seattle, this line contains beds, blankets, leashes, collars, toys, and duffel bags for the gear you need to get out and go. Enter to win a few Skookum Dog items of your own.

“Good and Strong and Made in the USA”

I suspected the Skookum products would be something special before I even laid my hands on them because they come from the team that makes the venerable Tom Bihn bags. My experience with these products told me that only the best, most durable materials would be used and my expectations were exceeded.

Skookum shared one of their memory foam Summit Beds with my big boxer, Rock.  It is unlike any dog bed we have owned. Heavy, thick, sturdy, it is like a piece of furniture. Not only has Rock fully embraced it, several guests have asked if they could curl up in it too!  We also have one of their camp mats in the back of my SUV. Rock started sleeping on it even before we took it out to the car. Now it is providing a layer of snuggly plush, good traction, and protection for the entire cargo area. I know we’ll be traveling with it too.

Rock, official USA Love List dog product spokesmodel, is also now sporting a handsome orange Skookum Dog collar and their new bungee leash. Rock is a big guy and when I first saw the bungee leash, I thought I wouldn’t like it because I thought it wouldn’t give me enough control when a tasty little cockapoo crossed our path. But I immediately found that the bungee gives just enough cushion to make walking him more comfortable. It also gives him a comfortable range while keeping the leash short and untangled.

Finally, I got to get my hands on the Skookum Dog Road Duffel. This and many of the other Skookum Dog products carry a high price, if I’m being honest. But I can also honestly tell you that these products are made with materials and craftsmanship beyond anything available elsewhere. We often talk about buying American products of high quality that will last and Skookum dog is the epitome of that idea. The duffel is perfect for a weekend getaway, toting your dog gear, holding winter emergency supplies in your car, and I can promise you it will last forever. Maybe they can’t promise that, but I feel pretty confident in that claim.

  3. I like the Summit Bed. It’s a cozy bed that any dog would enjoy. I want to win the Road Duffel to use it as a weekender bag.

  4. I love a bungee leash. Great giveaway. An, Rock is SO cute!

  5. I want to give this gift to my brother because he got a new dog and takes him hiking in the mountains and needs a bag to carry his dog gear.

  6. I like the guardian dog safety light. It’s a great idea to help protect your dog from cars or if he/she might happen to wander off after dark. And I also like the Summit Bed. It does look comfee.

  7. My Bull dog has eaten his leash. So I really need a new one.. He drags it around the house asking anyone to take him for a walk.. Actually he trags the other dog our dobermans leash. It is quite pathetic because he is walked all the time.. he is also a car dog. IF we are going anywhere he pushes the door open and hops in the car. So the duffel would be great also.

  8. Lulu would love the sheepskin bed and she needs a new leash

  10. I love the dog beds as our puppy is getting bigger we need one of those. The leash would be perfect for me as I am just learning how to walk a dog and I need something that gives me good control but also gives him some wiggle room to move around some.

My favorite product from Skookum Dog is the Guardian Dog Safety Light. I often walk my pups at night and would feel much safer with one of these on each of their collars.

I would love to win because the duffel bag would be great for camping trips and since I foster pups from my local shelter in addition to my own pups, I can always use another leash or 2.
