Normally over the weekend we offer a question for reflection or conversation. This week, we'd like to suggest that you watch this powerful five-minute video released yesterday. It shows young men, unemployed, tearing apart the industrial remains of the long-downtrodden city of Detroit, with the hope of selling the mangled metal for scrap. “We chose to focus our cameras on Detroit out of a gut feeling that this city — often heralded as the birthplace of the middle class — may well be a harbinger of things to come for the rest of the country,” said filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady. Feel free to share with friends and leave comments or reactions below.
If you have any trouble with the viewer, you can watch the video here.
