NaturaLawn of America
NaturaLawn of America provides a line of American-made lawn care products used in their services. Some of their products include Tick Ranger, Mosquito Ranger, and Ice Melt. Hey, who wants ticks and mosquitoes crawling on us or latching into us?
But their main services consist of two lawn care programs, one of which is called The Natural Alternative and is 100% pesticide-free. Both programs use only USA-made resources. In fact, all NaturaLawn products used in their services, including tick and mosquito lawn treatment products, are 100% USA sourced.
“All NaturaLawn of America products are proprietary and made exclusively for our franchises. Our franchisees must use these products, which are only USA-made, in order to ensure all customers receive the same quality product,” Theresa Smith, NaturaLawn’s Director of Marketing, told USA Love List. You can locate a NaturaLawn of America provider via this locator link.
Made in USA Outdoor Power Equipment
When it comes to lawn maintenance products, none are more popular than snowblowers and lawnmowers. Tragically, finding USA-made lawnmowers and snowblowers isn’t as easy as one might think.
The good news is, some major American brands produce high-quality, affordable, USA-made lawnmowers and snowblowers.
Ariens: Built in the USA Snow Blowers, Lawn Mowers
Ariens has a manufacturing facility in Brillion, Wisconson where snow blowers and zero turn lawn mowers are assembled. Ariens other manufacturing facilities are located in Norway and in the United Kingdom.
Fun Fact: Ariens was the first US manufacturer of garden tillers back in the 1930s. Today, Ariens is known for its snowblowers . They didn't get the nickname The King of Snow®, for nothing! Ariens Crossover series of snow blowers are made with all-steel construction in the USA.
Ariens outdoor power equipment products can only be purchased through authorized dealers.
Cub Cadet: American Built Lawn Mowers, Tractors, Snow Blowers
Cub Cadet builds all its mowers, tractors, snowblowers, and utility vehicles in the United States. With factories in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, and Mississippi, Cub Cadet helps local community workforces thrive. The company calls its relationship with American communities “Strongsville.” Cub Cadet’s product line is priced around the same as Snapper and all of their products are handcrafted and engineered to the highest of quality standards.
Home Depot carries Cub Cadet products. Also, major tractor supply companies are likely to carry them or be able to order them for you. Here’s a geo-targeted “where to buy” map to help you find a Cub Cadet independent dealer.
Snapper: American Built Tractors & Lawn Mowers
Snapper, a division of Briggs & Stratton Corporation, builds select styles of its tractors, zero-turn mowers, and walk-behind mowers in the USA. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Snapper products are produced in Munnsville, New York, and of course, in Milwaukee. Snapper’s parent company employees thousands at domestic jobs, including engine building, throughout the United States. American-built Snapper products are only available through independent Snapper dealers.
Snapper also offers a line of electric lawn mowers, electric string trimmers, electric leaf blowers, and electric hedge trimmers; however, the electric line of products is NOT made in the USA.
STIHL: Built in the USA Chainsaws, Leaf Blowers, Trimmers
STIHL has been building outdoor power equipment in its Virginia Beach, Virginia manufacturing facility since the 1970s. More than 80 models of STIHL equipment are still made in the USA today. These include select models of their chainsaws, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers.
STIHL products can only be purchased through authorized STIHL dealers, so your local dealer should be able to point you to the specific American-built products that you are looking for.
Ventrac: American Built Tractors and Attachments
Ventrac, an Orrville, Ohio company, rarely gets a mention in the lawn equipment conversation. That’s mostly because this American-made lawn equipment company primarily focuses on tractors, snow removal, and soil preparation attachments. For lawn equipment companies, consumer lawn mowers are the biggest hook. Ventrac doesn’t build consumer lawn mowers. Instead, they build mowers that can negotiate and navigate big slopes.
Their products are American made and they are big supporters of their Ohio community. The downside is that Ventrac products are made for farmers more than everyday homeowners. Additionally, they aren’t carried by major stores.
Finding USA-made lawn care products and equipment isn’t as difficult as many people think. While the options are thinner, the options you have are high-quality and will last you for a long while. Whether you are trying to improve the health and beauty of your lawn, or you need to blow some snow, you can find products built right here in good ole’ America.

I talked to Snapper, and it appears that all their gas-powered push mowers are made in China.
Worx company advertises made in USA but not true. Company is in NC but everything is made in China. I have bought weed eaters from them and they are good last a long time but I thought they were USA made. I am trying to find USA products. Even New Balance shoes advertise made in USA but not all. You have to specify made in USA when you order and their only a few choices.
Why no mention of John Deere riding mowers made in Tennessee
Stihl does not make mowers, gas or electric. They put their label on them.
Cub cadet assembles but makes no parts of their mowers.
Troy Bilt manufactures their walk behind mowers in Mississippi. Not sure about electric models.
I’ve called and emailed those three companies.
Honda makes their mowers and casts the mower engines here and assembles everything here in the USA.
Odd how domestic and foreign companies flip like that.
Since Stanley/Black & Decker bought Craftsman from Sears they have brought a decent amount of product MFG back to the USA including some of the riding, zero turn push & self propelled mowers, pressure washers, snow blowers & attachments. They even have a map on their website showing where what types of products are made. They have even started making wet-vacs in the USA which will help with the loss of “Shop-Vac” going out of business. https://www.craftsman.com/support/where-its-made All of the descriptions will say Made in USA with US & Global Materials, but most of the motors are Made/Assembled in the USA. They are about to open a new factory in the Dallas, TX area to make “Mechanics” tools in the USA again (Wrenches, Ratchets etc.). Also, Stihl has started making some battery powered products in the USA factory, but you would need to call them or go to one of their dealers to find out which ones.
I just received my gas Snapper 208cc single stage snowblower…. Made in July 2020…. in China. ;(
Thanks for letting us know! We don’t have Snapper snow blowers on our list for that reason. None of their snow blowers are American made.
At the same plant in Munnsville, NY that Snapper mowers are built, B&S’s zero turn line of the Ferris brand are also built.
Sad to think that we need to start thinking about snowblowers. But, thanks for getting me ready!
Please clarify as Assembled In USA. There are virtually no small gas engines produced in the us. Its an almost 100% Chinese venture. Sad but true. Maybe there is a talented entrepreneur out there who can make a cost effective small engine in the us in the near future.
Kohler still makes engines in the US (there is a plant in Hattiesburg, MS). The larger 20-28 HP I believe. But you are right about the smaller engines
KOHLER – In September of 2018, Kohler Co. announced that its Wisconsin-based small engines division would move to Mississippi by the end of 2019. In light of this end to an era, we wanted to take a look back at some interesting points in the division’s history.
Stihl makes chainsaws and string trimmers in Virginia, including the motors. I wish they made cordless mowers here.
I was looking for a push lawn mower made in the US. I had selected a Cub Cadet SC 100 HW 21 in. 3-IN-1 159cc High Wheel Push Mower online at Tractor Supply and was about to purchase when I started reading the Q&A section. This mower is not made in the US. It’s made in China. Pretty disappointing.
We are looking to buy American made grass trimmer. Any suggestions?
Don, your best best for finding an American made grass trimmer will be Stihl which still makes some of their equipment in Virginia. I am hearing that the FS 38 weed eater is made in China but the others are made here, possibly with imported components. You’ll want to get a good look at the labeling before purchase as manufacturing on items like this can change faster than the information available. Good luck and thank you for trying to buy American!
Please add a correction to your article.
I almost purchased a Snapper mower based on it being Made in USA, but found out that’s not true.
Snapper does not build any Electric or Battery powered lawn mowers in the USA.
100% of their non-gas powered products are Made in China, and this is stated on their website.
We state that select mowers are made in the USA, which is also stated on the Snapper website. https://www.snapper.com/na/en_us/support/faqs/browse/where-are-snapper-mowers-made.html
We do recommend for people to consult Snapper authorized dealers for the current information as to exactly which products those are. Manufacturing process are always changing in todays business world, so through the dealer is the best way for people to get that information. Thank you.
Stihl is a German owned company. True their products are made in Virginia, but the profits go back to the home base in Germany.
Exactly, just like foreign cars. They might be “assembled” here, but the big checks go our of our country, usually overseas.
All the people that work there , they spent there money right here and they buy a lot of materials right here in the states . So it is better than the companies that just send their stuff over here and sell it…..They invest in buildings and many things from here also ! Thanks TR
