I just learned last week that ethyl alcohol, the main ingredient in hand sanitizer, is a petroleum by-product which is also flammable. I use hand sanitizer almost everyday, and I had no idea. You only need three ingredients to make your own organic hand sanitizer with Aura Cacia's products. The company  supports over 500 jobs in Iowa.

Ingredients

2 ounces Aura Cacia vegetable glycerin (a vegetable derived product)
21 drops Aura Cacia lemon tea tree essential oil
1/4 teaspoon Aura Cacia Argan oil

 

Directions

Combine all ingredients and mix well in a bowl. Pour mixture into small travel sized container to take on the go. (Original recipe found here.)
